 Birju Nayak lives in the Sanjay Colony area of Okhla Phase 2. He completed his graduation from Delhi University and has ever since played a leading and active role in numerous struggles not only in Delhi but throughout the country. He is a journalist, playwright and political and social activist by occupation.
Over the past few years Birju Nayak has worked consistently and successfully to build non-partisan Lok Raj Samitis in different bastis of Delhi to advance the struggle for better living conditions, labour rights and human rights.
Having lived under harsh conditions, Birju was deeply disturbed by the plight faced by the majority in the city and the country. He chose to work among the people and organise them to change their own lives.
His political understanding and consciousness has inspired him to fight for the renewal of the political process and put an end to all forms of exploitation of the working peoples of India. His life’s ambition is to organise working people to play an active and leading role in replacing the existing exploitative system with one that guarantees prosperity and protection for all citizens without discrimination. |
